Build a strong root.

Starting a writing process to find your voice might sound like you have to connect with God, but there is actually a much better place to start.
Build a strong root.

When you write to find your voice it's normal to want to start with the most abstract part of yourself. Your dreams and aspirations, for example, or your connection with the divine.

However, it's not the best place to start. To get the most out of the process you need a strong root, and you are better off building that first.

It's a bit like when you begin doing a martial art or take your first dancing lessons. You don't start with the fancy throws that takes a lifetime to build. You start by building a foundation, and it means lots and lots of footwork.
